About Tarzana, California
Tarzana California is a great place to buy a property. As part of the greater Los Angeles area, you can be a proud owner of Los Angeles real estate in the beautiful and scenic San Fernando Valley area. Searching for the perfect residential or commercial real estate to flip or call your own? Tarzana may be your next address!
Tarzana is situated south of Reseda and East of Woodland Hills. Encino is west and the Santa Monica Mountains run south and you’re probably familiar with Ventura Boulevard which runs through Tarzana as well. Access in and out of the city is good, making Tarzana excellent for commuters.
The city wasn’t always called Tarzana. Famous writer Edgar Rice Burroughs – who authored the Tarzan stories – bought property in the area in 1915, subdivided the land and sold it off. The town was renamed “Tarzana” in his honor.
Tarzana is populated by nearly 30,000 people, mostly living in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, and part of it has been specifically designed to give the feeling of a rural setting. But just because the population is small and the setting seems rural, don’t be fooled into thinking that this is a backwoods village. On the contrary! Tarzana’s peaceful setting is the perfect place for the urban dweller looking for seclusion without traveling too far away.
This intentionally rural-like lifestyle is decidedly luxurious with 2 country clubs and golf courses and several gated communities for those who want that extra touch of privacy. Just because the area is designed to feel less urban, that doesn’t mean that your children won’t enjoy a thorough education. Elementary schools include Wilbur Avenue Elementary, Nestle Avenue Elementary, Vanalden Elementary, and Tarzana Elementary. The area’s children are then schooled in Portola Middle School and Taft High school. And, in fact, Portola Middle School was used in films including “Karate Kid” and “Akeela and the Bee”.
For those who work in Tarzana and want to do business there too will find that the Chamber of Commerce is thriving… and just celebrated its 75th anniversary, a sure sign that businesses like operating in Tarzana. Contact them about the possibility of moving your business to that area.
For those who work in the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles or its surrounding cities, Tarzana offers a type of quiet, reflective living that lets you feel like you’re heading to the cottage every day you leave work to drive home. The high stress of jobs melts away as you cruise down the highway and enter your quiet, secluded home.
