About Chatsworth, CALIFORNIA

If you were to say “Chatsworth CA” to someone, they would probably think that they recognized the name as just another piece of real estate in California. But it is so much more than that. For hundreds of years this region defined the people who live there.

For centuries, two tribes of Native Americans lived in the area. Then, in August 5th 1767, the first European explorers arrived in the area and set up a mission associated with the church in Spain. Although the area changed hands between Spain, Mexico, and then the United States, it has always embodied the spirit of the wild and untamed west.

Located in the San Fernando Valley, the area depicted the idea of the Wild West for many years: mountains can be seen in the distance, tumbleweeds are not an uncommon site, and boulders are strewn here and there. In fact, up until the 1980s it was still a relatively rural area and used for filming movies that took place in the Wild West. Zorro, The Lone Ranger, and many Roy Rogers movies will filmed in the area.

Today it carefully balances the old with the new and that attracts a lot of people who want to own a home that is both American modern and American classic! And you’d be surprised at who lives there…

Movie greats Errol Flynn and Roy Rogers once called Chatsworth home. Val Kilmer, Kevin Spacey, and Kirk Cameron are alumni of the Chatsworth high school. Today, actor Will Smith and singer Marilyn Manson both call the area home.

This area, and the people who live there, are naturally destined for greatness. It seems that the region was able to define our perception of the American west while the people who live there are constantly able to define and redefine our perceptions of life itself. Who wouldn’t want to live in an area that so richly captures who we believe ourselves to be.

What’s more, as a suburb of the greater Los Angeles area, you can be sure that the same quality of life and the same attitude and excitement are shared between LA and Chatsworth. In fact, the high school is part of the greater Los Angeles high school district and the Chatsworth library is part of the Los Angeles library system. That’s an important consideration for the family who wants to live in a suburban (or, we might say, “rural-suburban”) area while still enjoying the amenities and lifestyle of trend-setting Los Angeles.

When hunting for your first or second home, you should put Chatsworth CA high on your list of places to visit. And, if you’re a real estate investor who wants to create a portfolio of rental homes or make some fast cash from flipping, Chatsworth CA is an ideal and popular location to consider.
