About Cahuenga Pass, CA
Anyone who has ever dreamed of living in the Hollywood Hills might be encouraged to know that such a thing is actually quite possible. Rather than turn the whole area into one gigantic studio or theme park for movie buffs, the Hollywood film industry branched out to Studio City and Burbank instead of decimating the residential communities that grace the area. Cahuenga Pass is one such community.
Cahuenga Pass CA is in the heart of the action, to be sure, yet it combines a surprisingly gorgeous environment with the advantages of city living. The rolling hills of what are commonly known as the “Hollywood Knolls” make for a variety of vistas and wonderfully unique roadways. From the front windows of area homes, no two views will be quite the same.
The community of Cahuenga Pass, California, is a northern borough of Hollywood, which is in turn a district of the City of Los Angeles. Its name comes from a word in the Tongva language which means something close to “little hills”. The Tongva nation comprised some of the first inhabitants of this region. This lowest pass between the Santa Monica Mountains connecting LA to the San Fernando Valley was the site of a couple famous battles when the area was still being fought over in the early 1800s. From time to time excavations still uncover old cannonballs!
Besides the natural beauty and metropolitan convenience of Cahuenga Pass, there are a plethora of nearby opportunities and attractions which make this a key location for those interested in being involved in the film, television, or tourist industries, either as workers or enthusiasts. Studio City and Universal City are right nearby, not to mention the fact that Cahuenga Boulevard is the bridge between Ventura Boulevard in the north and Mulholland Drive in the south, right along the Hollywood Freeway. The streets branch off of this central throughway and wind their way around the foothills creating a unique setting for residential living.
Although Hollywood is thought of as one of the world’s great focal points, the attractions of the area do not diminish the amenities and the community living that takes place here. There are a number of reputable elementary schools and middle schools that serve the area, and a private elementary school as well. The Hollywood High School takes all local students, except maybe those child actors and actresses who opt for the Hollywood Professional School instead.
The immediate access to major thoroughfares makes this a good place to live for those who wish to have as short a commute as possible. The thriving culture of the area ensures that there will always be a number of interesting opportunities for employment as well as the pursuit of hobbies. Cahuenga Pass combines a unique natural topography with fascinating cultural surroundings and is certainly not a boring place to live.
