Established to reinvent real estate services, Realty Counselors, Inc. is a full service real estate and mortgage consulting and brokerage firm.

Our company’s reputation is built on the uniformly high quality of our associates. Realty Counselors, Inc. is known in the industry for its rigorous selection of associates. While we insist on in-depth knowledge of all aspects of real estate, the markets and client relations, we also place a premium on creativity, entrepreneurial instincts, self-motivation, sound judgment, resourcefulness and common sense. Our associates serve as our clients’ personal and confidential representatives, counselors, strategists, marketers and closers. We dedicate ourselves to finding these associates and to creating a collegial working environment in which they can flourish and offer our clients the best service and expertise possible.

How We Help Our Clients Succeed

The first person at a buffet gets the greatest choice of food. Everyone else in line simply gets what the first person did not want. This “first-to-market” approach – called by marketers “the first mover advantage” – applies in nearly every industry. Those who have the vision, foresight, and intuition to act before anyone else will reap the benefits… others may succeed but not nearly to the extent that the first mover succeeds. Realty Counselors Inc. is staking its claim as a first mover in the real estate market.

But how, you ask, can a company make this claim in a market already over-saturated by countless Realtors? It’s all in the wonderful benefits delivered to clients!

Industry changes

Decades ago, you went to a Realtor to get advice on various real estate related matters including the right time to buy or sell, whether to buy the second home, choosing the right real estate loan etc. Realtors were intimately involved in assisting their clients in the decision-making process. Your Realtor was your trusted advisor. However, due to the growth of fierce competition in the real estate industry, Realtors now concentrate exclusively on transactions. Hence, the old perception that your Realtor was your trusted advisor disappeared. The new perception that grew up in its place is that Realtors are simply one step in the transaction – and sometimes they’re thought of as a step that is expensive, that provides little value, and even unnecessary.

But this is not the only industry where these changes have occurred.

A parallel story

The investment industry for many decades offered valuable service as brokers helped people understand the market and invest appropriately. However, the growth of the internet created opportunities for people to not only educate themselves but transact their investments without the help of a traditional brokerage firm. “Full-service” firms were eclipsed by discount brokerages, and online brokerages. Like Realtors, traditional brokers faced an uphill battle to win new customers and repeat business.

But many “traditional” brokerages are still around. Why is that? One of the reasons is that firms worked hard to create a perception of more value than that offered by discount brokers. Discount brokers were for sophisticated or higher-risk investors… and brokerage firms became the firm for the “everyman” (and woman), offering a variety of products and services in the role of “Financial Advisors” rather than simply brokers who transact stock trades.
 

A shared trajectory

We believe that these two industries share a similar future trajectory, with the investment industry slightly ahead of the real estate industry: Both industry professionals were valued as consultants. Both professions were put at risk by highly competitive options, thus making the professionals appear to be over-paid transaction assistants. The financial industry repositioned its professionals as advisors who offer high-value services. We, at Realty Counselors Inc., believe the real estate industry will soon reposition itself in the same way. And for that reason, Realty Counselors Inc. was established as a first mover in what we call “the New Real Estate Industry”.
